Happy Birthday to Mrs. Winn's Grandma!!!

This week we started our winter art project. So far, we have used our watercolor colored pencils to make a swirly background. We also had a lot of fun today with Cozy Book Day! We snuggled up and read some great books together! In language arts, we completed Day 2 from our MLK Jr book. On Monday, we had our first read and we took notes on our thinking while we read. On Tuesday, we read a book called Rosa, to help us better understand "Day 2." On Wednesday, we read the chapter again and prepared for book clubs. Finally, on Thursday, we had our first cross class book club meetings! We thought they went great! It was cool to talk to students from another class and get to hear their ideas! Today, we took a quiz on the chapter. We'll be following a similar pattern each week for our reading. In math, we finished our first chapter of division. The test is coming on Tuesday! We also finished our read aloud book, Harriet the Spy. We're now reading Fortunately, the Milk. It's a very fun and silly story! We'll be done with it in a couple days. In science, we learned about stored energy and how energy travels by completing energy stations. On Monday and Thursday, we rotated between different stations for a little hands on discovery! Of course, it's Friday, so we had PE and a spelling test! We had lots of fun playing cone ball. We payed a visit to Mrs. V this week. In art class we used watercolor pastels to create a mountain and lake landscape. In music, we learned a new song that we will be performing in the concert.  It's been a great week! Remember - No school on Monday!!!
